Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health · Illinois · Free

National program teaching how to help someone experiencing a mental health crisis. A starting point for anyone burned by past providers who pathologized identity or pushed conversion practices. Many affirming practices accept Medicaid, Medicare, and major commercial insurance. Affirming care doesn't mean cheerleading every identity exploration — it means treating identity as health-neutral and addressing actual symptoms. All services free of charge to LGBTQ+ Illinois residents and allies.
