PEP must start within 72 hours of exposure — ER doctors can prescribe it; 24/7 hotlines exist for navigating off-hours. The Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative is funding expanded testing and PrEP access in 57 priority US jurisdictions. All services free of charge to LGBTQ+ Maryland residents and allies.
