National Center for Youth Law
Legal Aid & Advocacy · South Carolina · Free
Legal advocacy for marginalized youth including LGBTQ+ youth in foster care and juvenile justice. Relevant for couples whose marriage rights may be contested or who need parentage protections across states. Discrimination claims have short windows — federal EEOC is 180–300 days from the incident depending on state. Second-parent adoption is still recommended even after marriage equality, especially for travel across hostile states. All services free of charge to LGBTQ+ South Carolina residents and allies.
