Caregiver support is built into most LGBTQ+ elder programs — partner-led care is acknowledged and supported. Many LGBTQ+ elders went back into the closet when they entered nursing homes; SAGE-trained facilities are growing but still rare. All services free of charge to LGBTQ+ Maine residents and allies.
